You Are Worth Waiting For:

If you are WORTH having, you are WORTH waiting for. I cannot begin to tell you the number of people who I have met who wish they had waited until marriage. I was told years ago that each act we do produces a corresponding consequence. This is true, my friend.
Also, if you are abstinent now and have chosen to wait until marriage, that’s an amazing thing too.
Here are a few tips to help you on this journey:
  • Guard your heart. Be careful with whom you become emotionally connected.
  • Wisely choose those you allow in your inner circle. Some people will do you more harm than good.
  • Be careful what you entertain. What you watch (sexualize movies) and what you listen to (sexualized and suggestive music) will impact your behavior and desires — over time.
  • Be careful where you hang out. Some places aren’t conducive to your desire to wait. In our society where sex is over-popularized, where young children are emulating Instagram models, and where people you know are now selling sexualized pictures and videos to make money, you can still dare to be different. Remember, if everyone you know is doing it, that doesn’t make it right. In fact, the crowd is normally wrong.

Be encouraged and know that you are not alone on this journey. Your obedience to God will be rewarded.
